Rohit Pawar flags severe drought, seeks immediate financial relief for Maharashtra farmers

Pune, Sep 28 ( UNI) NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar on Monday raised concerns over the worsening drought situation in Maharashtra and demanded immediate financial assistance for farmers and agricultural labourers, saying the impact of the crisis was far greater than reflected in official figures. Addressing the media, Pawar said Maharashtra has received around 32-34 per cent less rainfall than average this season and estimated that kharif crop losses could amount to nearly Rs 95,500 crore.
