Pune RTO collects Rs 25.82 lakh in fines, taxes during special drive against private buses

Pune, Nov 8 (UNI) The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has intensified its crackdown on private passenger buses to curb violations and ensure passenger safety during the festive season. During a special inspection drive conducted in September and October 2026, the RTO inspected 929 private buses and detected violations or documentation-related irregularities in 315 of them. The enforcement drive resulted in the settlement of 185 cases and the recovery of Rs 25.82 lakh in taxes and penalties.
