Diwali celebrations expose stark contrast as Pardhi settlements remain deprived of basic amenities

Nagpur, Nov 8 (UNI) Amid grand Diwali celebrations marked by dazzling lights, festive shopping and fireworks across cities, thousands of families belonging to the "Pardhi Community" continue to struggle for basic necessities, with many settlements still deprived of electricity, drinking water, proper shelter and education. Members of the Pardhi community spread across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Gujarat are forced to migrate in search of livelihood. Thousands of families remain miles away from the festive illumination, while young children struggle to survive and earn enough to fill their stomachs.
