DRI officials seize 10 tonnes of banned imported firecrackers worth Rs 3 crore at JNPA port

Raigad, Sep 25 (UNI) Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials seized 10 tonnes of banned firecrackers worth Rs 3 crore from a container illegally sent to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) port under a fake label from abroad. On receiving confidential information that 10 tonnes of firecrackers worth Rs 3 crore were being imported from abroad in containers under the fake label of 'bottles and wallpaper' at JNPA port, DRI officials raided the port and inspected a suspicious container, which was found to be filled mainly with prohibited firecrackers, except for the first three rows containing the declared goods.
