Bengaluru engineer accused of impersonating Bishnoi gang member to threaten Bollywood actors

Mumbai, Nov 5 (UNI) The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested Vaibhav Mishra, a 30-year-old IIT graduate and IT engineer working in Bengaluru, for allegedly threatening Bollywood actors Tusshar Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana and demanding crores of rupees while impersonating a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police traced Mishra to Bengaluru through digital evidence obtained from social media accounts allegedly used to send threatening Instagram messages and audio recordings. Investigators suspect he attempted to exploit fears generated by recent gang-related threats against film personalities to extort money.
