Goa liquor worth Rs 1.59 crore seized on Mumbai-Goa highway, one held

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) The State Excise Department has seized Goa-made liquor worth Rs 1.49 crore being illegally transported to Gujarat through Maharashtra and arrested the truck driver in Mahad, officials said on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, an Excise team laid a trap near Kemburli village on the Mumbai-Goa National Highway and intercepted a truck bearing registration number RJ 19 GE 4115. The truck was travelling towards Mumbai when officials stopped it and carried out a search. They found 1,480 boxes of Goa-made whisky inside the vehicle.
