Mumbai Crime Branch busts illegal mobile data racket, arrests nine including two cops

Mumbai, Oct 10 (UNI) The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested nine people, including two police personnel, for allegedly obtaining and selling confidential call detail records (CDRs) and mobile phone location data without authorisation, officials said on Saturday. The police seized 50 call detail records, data relating to 520 customers, 550 mobile location records, 420 International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) details and seven mobile phones during the investigation. Further inquiries are underway to determine the extent of the alleged racket and identify others involved.
