Farmers stage indefinite dharna outside Pralhad Joshi's residence in Hubballi

Kolhapur, Sept 29 (UNI) Hundreds of farmers from Kolhapur district and the disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka border areas, led by the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS), on Tuesday began an indefinite dharna outside the residence of union Minister Pralhad Joshi in Hubballi, demanding a minimum support price of Rs 50 per kg for sugar, a subsidy of Rs 500 per tonne for sugarcane and other measures. Earlier in the morning, hundreds of farmers from various parts of the district and the border areas, led by SSS national president and former MP Raju Shetti, gathered at the Kognoli check post on the Karnataka border.…
