Taking serious exception, Madras HC orders DVAC probe into bribery charges for appointing Govt pleaders

Chennai, Sep 29 (UNI) The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday ordered a Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) probe into the charges of bribery in the appointment of government pleaders in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, after taking strong exceptions and wondering whether such persons by getting appointment through illegal means would protect the country and the judiciary. The court was hearing a petition filed by Jeganraj of Kanyakumari district, who alleged that government law officers appointed in various trial courts had secured their posts by paying lakhs of rupees.
