Neeru Dhanda from Jind in Haryana scripts Asian Games history; coach Peter Wilson hails golden run

Chandigarh, Sep 29 (UNI) Haryana-born shooter Neeru Dhanda created history on Tuesday by becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual trap shooting gold at the Asian Games, producing an Asian-record performance at the Aichi-Nagoya Games in Japan. The 26-year-old from Jind district hit 28 of 30 targets in the final to claim gold ahead of China's Sun Yunong, who finished with 26. Dhanda's score bettered the previous Asian record of 24.
