Gutkha worth Rs 1.13 Crore seized in chakan, five booked

Pune, Sep 20 (UNI) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has seized prohibited gutkha and tobacco products worth Rs 1.13 crore in Chakan following a major crackdown on the illegal transportation of banned tobacco products, officials said. Acting on confidential information about the transportation of banned gutkha, an FDA team launched an operation and kept a truck under surveillance. The officials reportedly pursued the vehicle for nearly six hours before intercepting it at the Chakan-Talegaon Chowk.
