Lingayat-Veerashaiva divide attempt aimed at splitting Hindus, alleges Kaneri seer

Kalaburagi, Sept 28 (UNI) A fresh battle over the religious and philosophical identity of the Lingayat and Veerashaiva communities has surfaced in Karnataka, with Kaneri Mutt seer Adrushya Kadasiddeshwar Swami alleging that attempts to separate the two identities are part of a larger effort to divide Hindus. Addressing the Basavadi Sharanara Hindu Samavesha here on Sunday, the seer questioned those opposing the convention while claiming to represent the legacy of Basaveshwara and the sharanas.
