KAVACH 4.0 commissioned on 108-km SCR section for first time

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (UNI) Indian Railways has commissioned KAVACH Version 4.0 for the first time on South Central Railway (SCR), upgrading the system from Version 3.2 to 4.0 across 108 route kilometres between Malkajgiri and Kamareddi in the Hyderabad Division. The upgraded Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system incorporates enhanced location accuracy, improved signal information in bigger yards, station-to-station communication through Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) and direct interface with existing Electronic Interlocking Systems, the Ministry of Railways said in a release on Wednesday.
