Vizhinjam port receives first import container, opens new chapter in Kerala's maritime trade

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 31 (UNI) The Vizhinjam International Seaport has received its first import container, marking a major step towards expanding its operations beyond transshipment and establishing itself as a direct gateway for Kerala's import trade. The inaugural import container, which arrived aboard the vessel MSC Sabrina III from Ningbo in China, was flagged off on October 31 by Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited Managing Director Jeromic George. The consignment was booked by Thiruvananthapuram-based startup BSG Logistics and Ship Chandlers Private Limited on behalf of Altair Group.
