Vizhinjam handles 17,400 TEUs from single vessel

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 25 (UNI) Vizhinjam International Seaport operated by Adani Group has achieved a major operational milestone by handling 17,400 TEUs from a single vessel, the MSC Loreto, placing the call among the highest-volume vessel calls at an Indian port. MSC Loreto, one of six Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs) in the MSC Irina series, is among the world's largest container vessels. The vessel arrived at Vizhinjam from Singapore and sailed onward to Colombo, further demonstrating the port's growing capabilities as a global transshipment hub.
