Hyd: Former Haryana Governor pays tribute to Chakali Ailamma, seeks SC status for Rajaka community

Hyderabad, Sept 26 (UNI): Former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya paid tributes to freedom fighter Chakali Ailamma at Lower Tank Bund here on Saturday on the occasion of her birth anniversary. Dattatreya recalled Ailamma's courage in resisting landlords, opposing forced labour (vetti chakiri) and fighting for land rights and the self-respect of the people of Telangana. He said Ailamma's role in the armed struggle and her fight against social injustice continued to inspire women and the younger generation.
