Madras HC nixes plea challenging former DMK Minister Velu's poll win

Chennai, Sep 16 (UNI) The Madras High Court on Wednesday rejected an election petition filed by the TVK candidate challenging the victory of senior DMK leader and former Minister E.V.Veu's from the Tiruvannamalai Assembly constituency in the April 23 polls as valid, Rejecting the plea filed against Velu, who is also the DMK Whip in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, by unsuccessful TVK candidate Arul Arumugam, Justice Bharata Chakravarty allowed the two petitions filed by Veu and held that the election petition did not have any material facts warranting trial.
