Armstrong murder : Madras HC dismiss suspended cop's bail plea in Rs 40 lakh extortion case

Chennai, Oct 1 (UNI) The Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed the bail plea of suspended police inspector Mohammed Buhari, who was arrested for allegedly threatening a businessman with being implicated in the Armstrong murder case and extorting Rs.40 lakh from him. Buhari, the inspector at Pallikaranai Police Station, and Srinivasan, a member of the Friends of Police organisation, were arrested by the Elephant Gate police on charges of threatening Chennai-based businessman Akhil Kumar Ukkam Raj that he would be implicated in the murder case of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) state president K.Armstrong and extorting Rs.40 lakh from him.
