Hyderabad, Sep 28 (UNI) Cardiac surgeons at KIMS Hospitals, Kondapur, successfully performed a rare and highly complex 10-hour aortic arch reconstruction on a 64-year-old retired government teacher from Medak district, saving her from a life-threatening acute aortic dissection. A hospital release on Monday said, the patient, who had a history of hypertension, developed severe chest pain radiating to her back, accompanied by sweating and vomiting. A CT scan revealed an acute dissection of the ascending aorta extending into its major branch vessels. She was subsequently shifted to KIMS Kondapur for specialised treatment.
