BPL families in Kerala to get free Troponin-T test for early detection of heart attacks

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 29 (UNI) The Kerala government will make Troponin-T testing free for people belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families to facilitate the early detection of heart attacks, Health Minister K Muraleedharan said here today. Inaugurating the World Heart Day celebrations at the AMCHSS auditorium of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) here, the Minister said the initiative was aimed at ensuring access to effective cardiac screening for ordinary people.
