Bhutan seeks Kerala's 'Operation Toofan' model to combat drug menace: Chennithala

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21 (UNI) Bhutan has approached Kerala seeking details of the state's 'Operation Toofan - The Narco Hunt', launched as part of the fight against the growing drug menace, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said today. Chennithala said Bhutan Home Minister Lungten Dorji telephoned him recently, congratulated Kerala on the initiative and sought details of the campaign. Dorji had learnt about Operation Toofan through media reports and informed Chennithala that the Bhutanese government was also interested in implementing a similar initiative in the country amid the growing threat posed by narcotic drugs.
