Kerala Assembly a model for legislatures worldwide: Speaker

Cape Town/Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 16 (UNI) Kerala Legislative Assembly is a model for legislative bodies across the world, Speaker Thiruvanchur Radhakrishnan said here on Wednesday. Speaking at the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, he said Kerala was a pioneer in introducing several innovative practices in legislation, parliamentary procedures and democratic functioning. The Subject Committee system, introduced first in Kerala Assembly in India, ensures detailed scrutiny of legislative and administrative matters, he said.
