Rural artisans need fair returns, better market access: Telangana Governor

Hyderabad, Oct 7 (UNI) Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Wednesday called for better market access for rural artisans and handloom weavers to ensure fair returns for their labour and strengthen the rural economy. Inaugurating the 'Rural Bharat Mahotsav-Telangana 2026', organised by NABARD at Kamma Sangham Hall in Yellareddyguda, the Governor said over 64 lakh artisans and handloom weavers across the country depend on the sector, with women accounting for 65-70 per cent of the workforce.
