Vishnuvardhan, Sarojadevi to be conferred Karnataka Ratna; Rajinikanth to be invited

Bengaluru, Oct 30 (UNI) The Karnataka government will confer its highest civilian honour, the Karnataka Ratna, posthumously on legendary actors Dr Vishnuvardhan and B Sarojadevi at a ceremony to be held on November 19, Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Thangadgi said on Friday. Addressing a press conference at Vidhana Soudha, the Minister said the award ceremony would be held in front of the Vidhana Soudha Grand Steps. He said the government was planning to invite veteran Tamil actor Rajinikanth to the ceremony, besides contemporary actors and actresses who had shared screen space with the awardees.
