Kerala aims to develop 600-km coastline as port city, jobs for youth, homes for fisherfolk

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 6 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan has said the government would work towards developing the state's 600-km coastline as a major port city, while ensuring employment opportunities at Vizhinjam and other ports for youngsters from local fishing families. The government would also launch a special housing programme to provide homes to all homeless fisherfolk and take measures to resolve the difficulties faced by coastal communities and generate more employment opportunities, he said.
