Dr Gopinath Kakkoprath takes charge as DMRL director

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (UNI) Eminent materials scientist and defence researcher Dr Gopinath Kakkoprath has taken charge as Director of the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Hyderabad, effective September 21, 2026. According to a defence statement on Wednesday, Dr Gopinath, who previously served as Outstanding Scientist and Associate Director at DMRL, has over three decades of experience in DRDO. He joined DRDO in 1994 and contributed to the indigenous development of materials and components for the Kaveri Engine Programme.
