ACB catches two Sub-Treasury officers accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe

Hyderabad, Sep 17 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday caught a Sub-Treasury Officer, Assistant Treasury Officer and a private person red-handed while accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe at the Divisional Sub-Treasury Office, Chevella, in Rangareddy district. According to the ACB statement, Madiga Laxmaiah, Sub-Treasury Officer (AO-1), and Kavali Anuradha, Assistant Treasury Officer (AO-2), allegedly demanded Rs 2.50 lakh from the complainant and accepted a part payment of Rs 1 lakh for processing and forwarding his suspension-period salary bills amounting to Rs 23.25 lakh and post-retirement pension adjustment arrears of Rs 4.29 lakh.
