Krishnaiah urges PM Modi to adopt standardised caste codes for Census 2027

Hyderabad, Nov 1 (UNI) Rajya Sabha MP R Krishnaiah has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce standardised caste codes and officially notified caste lists for the caste-based enumeration during Census 2027 to ensure accurate and reliable data. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Krishnaiah welcomed the decision to include caste-wise enumeration in the forthcoming Census but expressed concern over the proposed open-column method for recording caste details during the Population Enumeration phase, scheduled to begin on January 25, 2027.
