CIAL becomes first airport in India to extend DigiYatra to international passengers

Kochi, Oct 27 (UNI): Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has become the first airport in India to facilitate international passenger processing through DigiYatra, with the first passenger using the facility to travel to the Maldives on an IndiGo flight on Tuesday. The facility, being tested for select airlines, combines electronic passports (e-passports) with biometric facial recognition to verify passengers at designated checkpoints, reducing the need for physical documents during the airport processing procedure.
