Fishing community stages demo against new Secretariat project, police deployed in Pattinapakkam

Chennai, Sep 29 (UNI) Members of various fishermen associations and residents staged a protest demonsration in Chennai's coastal Pattinapakkam on Tuesday against the Tamil Nadu government's decision to construct a new Secretariat-cum-Assembly complex in the area. A large number of police personnel have been deployed at the protest venue in view of the demonstration. Carrying black flags, the agitators, including women, shouted slogans against the government and wanted it to clearly clarify its stand on the issue and revoke the Government Order issued in this regard.
