Students protest for release of Rs 8,500 cr fee reimbursement arrears

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (UNI) A large number of students staged a protest at Vidyanagar on Wednesday, demanding immediate release of about Rs 8,500 crore in scholarship and fee reimbursement arrears for 1.4 million students across Telangana. The protest, led by State BC Student Association president Pagilla Satish, demanded continuation of the fee reimbursement scheme in its earlier form and alleged that non-payment of dues was severely affecting students from poor and backward communities.
