Gurugram, Sep 20 (UNI) Gurugram Traffic Police issued 94 challans and imposed fines totalling Rs4.70 lakh during an 18-day enforcement drive against motorists using mobile phones while driving, a Haryana Police official said on Sunday. The special drive, conducted from September 1 to 18, involved traffic teams carrying out checks at various locations across the city to detect drivers using handheld mobile devices behind the wheel. Police said using a mobile phone while driving diverts attention from the road and increases the risk of accidents.
