Gorakhpur, Oct 4 (UNI) After an embarrassing situation over clash between the party leaders during a press conference on Saturday, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday has dissolved the entire Gorakhpur district and metropolitan units.
This decision is believed to have been made following a dispute between two party leaders during a press conference. According to the directive, the entire district executive, including the district president and the metropolitan president, the metropolitan executive, the frontal organization, and all office-bearers of the state and provincial executive committees in Gorakhpur were dissolved with immediate effect.
A day earlier, an argument between two SP leaders at a press conference had escalated into a scuffle. Anshuman Singh, who is contesting the assembly elections from Gorakhpur Rural on the Samajwadi Party's ticket, and former district president Nagina Sahni had an altercation during a press conference.
Anshuman's son slapped the former district president. Those present intervened and calmed the situation. The entire matter was then reported to the national president. By evening, Anshuman Singh was expelled from the party. The next day, the party dissolved the entire executive committee of the Gorakhpur district.
