NCW takes suo motu cognizance of video showing IAS officer abusing woman officer

Srinagar. Oct 16 (UNI) The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognizance of a viral video allegedly showing senior IAS officer Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, Jammu and Kashmir, verbally abusing, humiliating and threatening junior woman officer Beenish Wani, Assistant Director (JKAS), during an official review meeting. The development comes on a day the Jammu and Kashmir government ordered an inquiry against Ranjan following widespread outrage over a video purportedly showing him calling Wani "bloody shit" during a virtual official meeting.
