UP Excise Revenue jumps nearly 21 pc in September, adds Rs 800 cr

Lucknow, Oct 6 (UNI) The zero-tolerance policy adopted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath against the illicit liquor trade and mafia networks is having a direct and significant impact on Uttar Pradesh's excise revenue. Uttar Pradesh's excise revenue rose nearly 21 per cent year-on-year in September 2026, with the department collecting an additional Rs 799.59 crore during the month amid intensified enforcement against illicit liquor and tax evasion.
