Punjab Cabinet clears Ranjitgarh Development Authority Bill for dam-area development

Chandigarh, Oct 5 (UNI) The Punjab Cabinet on Monday approved the Ranjitgarh Development Authority Bill, 2026, to plan and sustainably develop areas around the Ranjit Sagar and Shahpur Kandi dams, with a focus on eco-tourism. The Council of Ministers, chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, took the decision. Under the proposed legislation, the Ranjitgarh Development Authority, or RDA, will be established as a statutory body under the administrative control of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department.
