New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) The Railway Board has revised hire charges for wagons interchanged between railways, fixing the rate for non-railway users at Rs 1,877 per eight-wheeler broad-gauge wagon per day, according to an official order.
The revised rates came into effect on September 1, and will remain valid until August 31, 2027. For inter-railway financial adjustment, the hire charge has been fixed at Rs 1,016 per eight-wheeler BG wagon per day, comprising Rs 640 as workshop repair charges and Rs 376 as depreciation charges.
For non-railway users, the daily charge of Rs 1,877 comprises Rs 640 in workshop repair charges, Rs 376 in depreciation charges, Rs 428 in running repair charges and Rs 433 in wagon facilitation charges. The Railway Board said the rates will also apply to other types of wagons according to their equivalence in terms of eight-wheelers.
The revised charges will also apply to all Port Trust Railways. The previous rates were applicable from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026. The Railway Board said the charges were revised after a review by the competent authority.
