Police submit chargesheet in court in connection with Ram Temple offering theft case

Ayodhya, Sep 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police has filed the chargesheet in the Ram Temple offering theft case in the designated court on Wednesday.

The deadline for submitting the report was September 25, but it was done 2 days earlier. However, the details about the chargesheet were yet to be disclosed. Now the court will go through the chargesheet and fix a date for its hearing for admissibility. Further legal action will be decided based on the facts revealed in the chargesheet. The court records will clarify the roles of the individuals revealed in the report. Earlier, the Supreme Court directed the report to be submitted expeditiously.

Meanwhile, there was dissatisfaction within the Faizabad Bar Association regarding the investigation report submission into the Ram Temple offering theft case. Bar Association officials alleged that the investigation report has protected some prominent figures. On June 25, an FIR was registered at the Ramjanmabhoomi police station against eight people. These included Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Yadav, Subhash Srivastava, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, and Ramashankar Mishra.

Police arrested all the accused and sent them to jail. The accused have been charged under sections including theft from a temple, theft of property as an employee, criminal breach of trust, aiding and abetting the concealment or use of stolen property, criminal conspiracy, and committing an offence with common intention. All are lodged in Faizabad jail. According to the police, during the investigation, it was found that Ramshankar Yadav, alias Tinnu, had the keys to the donation boxes without any formal orders.

Anukalp Mishra and Lavkush Mishra were involved in counting the cash. Police claim that approximately Rs 20 lakh were recovered from Anukalp's house and approximately Rs 10 lakh from Lavkush's house. Manish Yadav, Subhash Srivastava, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, and Ramashankar Mishra were also involved in counting the cash. According to police, Rs 5 lakh was recovered from Avinash Shukla's bank account.
