Nitin Nabin chairs meeting of state in-charges
New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) BJP president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the party's newly appointed state in-charges and co-in-charges, with discussions focusing on organisational expansion, electoral preparedness and outreach initiatives, according to those aware of the developments.
Ahead of the meeting, Nabin paid floral tributes to the portraits of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at the party headquarters. The party's national general secretary (organisation), BL Santosh, national joint secretaries (organisation), Sudan Singh and Shivprakash and general secretaries, including Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal and Smriti Irani, and other leaders were present at the meeting.
Sources said discussions also focused on challenges facing the party in poll-bound states and the crucial coordination between the central organisation and state units ahead of upcoming elections. The meeting assumes significance following the BJP's recent restructuring of its state-level organisational responsibilities, with the new team tasked with overseeing party activities and preparations across states and union Territories.
The BJP recently announced appointments of state in-charges and co-in-charges across all 36 states and union Territories. Nabin has been holding meetings focused on grassroots organisation, coordination between the party and the government, and preparations for upcoming electoral exercises and visiting various states.
During his recent visit to West Bengal, he met state office-bearers, district functionaries, MPs, MLAs and other party functionaries, focusing on coordination between the organisation and elected representatives. The BJP and its ideological fountainhead, the RSS are also scheduled to hold a meeting of office-bearers in Mathura on October 3 and 4.
Coming ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, discussions are expected to centre around preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections, including strengthening the organisation at the booth level, analysing feedback received from cadres and status and strength in different regions, sources said.
