UP to prepare master plans for 93 municipal bodies to boost planned urban development

Lucknow, Oct 29 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government will prepare master plans for 93 municipal bodies to promote planned urban development, with provisions for residential and commercial areas, roads, parks, drainage and other infrastructure, officials said. The initiative, modelled on the planning framework followed by development authorities, will cover municipal bodies with populations ranging from 50,000 to 1 lakh. These include 62 municipal councils. The Urban Development Department will incorporate the necessary provisions into its regulations to streamline the preparation of master plans.
