HPMC records Rs 214.19 cr turnover as digital apple procurement, diversification gain momentum

Shimla, September 20 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) recorded a turnover of Rs 214.19 crore and a profit of around Rs 12 crore during 2025-26, a government spokesperson said on Sunday. The state-owned enterprise has expanded its operations beyond conventional apple procurement to processing, cold storage, post-harvest management and value-added products, he said. The corporation has also introduced an end-to-end digital system for apple procurement under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS)-2026, linking grower registration and procurement-related records through an online portal to improve transparency, accountability and operational efficiency.
