Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass surgery begins for first time at BHU

Varanasi, Sep 18 (UNI) Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (MICS-CABG) has been introduced under the leadership of Dr. Arvind Pandey in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at Sir Sunderlal Hospital, Banaras Hindu University (BHU). It is also commonly known as "keyhole heart surgery." For the first time in the hospital and Purvanchal, the department's team successfully performed coronary artery bypass surgery using this method. The 52-year-old patient, a resident of Varanasi, had severe, calcified blockages in his heart arteries, causing frequent chest pain and heart attacks.
