World Rabies Day: Kangra Civil hospital spreads awareness on prevention, timely treatment

Kangra, Sep 28 (UNI) An awareness programme was organised at Civil Hospital Kangra on the occasion of World Rabies Day 2026, in order to educate patients, attendants and the public about rabies, its transmission, prevention and the importance of timely vaccination and post-exposure treatment. Senior Medical Officer, Civil Hospital Kangra, Dr Alpna said, "Rabies is a fatal but preventable disease and timely medical intervention can save lives." She urged people not to panic after an animal bite but to immediately wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice without delay.…
