Punjab Police seize 17 kg heroin in 3rd major haul in 4 days

Chandigarh, Sep 19 (UNI) Punjab Police seized 17 kg of heroin and arrested three men in Amritsar today, taking narcotics recoveries by its Counter Intelligence unit to 54 kg in three operations over four days, the state's police chief said. Police identified the suspects as Prince, Malkit Singh and Rajinder Singh, all residents of Amritsar. A car allegedly used to transport the drugs was also seized. "Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused were allegedly operating in coordination with cross-border smugglers and were receiving heroin consignments for further supply," Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said.
