Wanted gangster wounded, arrested after exchange of fire with Punjab police

Chandigarh, Sep 23 (UNI) Punjab police arrested a wanted gangster accused in a grenade attack in Gurdaspur after he was wounded in an exchange of fire with officers in Amritsar district, a senior police official said on Wednesday. Harman Singh, alias Harman Boparai, suffered a bullet injury in his leg after allegedly opening fire on a police team at a checkpoint, Amritsar Rural Senior Superintendent of Police Kanwalpreet Singh Chahal said.
