BIS raises gold hallmarking fee to Rs 75 per article; silver charge remains Rs 35

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has notified revised hallmarking fees under the Bureau of Indian Standards (Hallmarking) Amendment Regulations, 2026, raising the hallmarking charge for gold articles payable by jewellers to recognised Assaying and Hallmarking Centres to Rs 75 per article, while the fee for silver articles has been retained at Rs 35 per article.
