New improved sugarcane varieties set to boost productivity, farmers' income

Greater Noida, Sep 29 (UNI) Four newly developed sugarcane varieties aimed at improving productivity, sugar recovery and farmers' income in Uttar Pradesh have been showcased at the stall of the Sugar Industry and Cane Development Department at the International Trade Show here. Developed by the Uttar Pradesh Council of Sugarcane Research (UPCSR), the varieties are intended to enhance sugarcane productivity, improve sugar recovery and reduce the impact of red rot, one of the major diseases affecting the crop.
