UP: Congress hold massive protest demanding resignation of CEC

Lucknow, Sep 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress workers staged a massive protest in Lucknow today demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Workers planning to surround the Assembly clashed with police, resulting in intense pushing and shoving near the state Congress headquarters. When police tried to remove them, the workers squatted down on the road amid heavy rains. Police used mild lathicharge on the protesting activists, in which a few received minor injuries.
