ICG, Gujarat ATS seize narcotics worth Rs 3,000 crore in Arabian Sea; five Pakistani nationals held

New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), in coordination with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), has busted a major transnational maritime narcotics-smuggling attempt with the seizure of around 526 kg of high-grade heroin and methamphetamine worth over Rs 3,000 crore, officials said. The operation was carried out on September 25 in the Arabian Sea, west of Lakshadweep, following intelligence inputs about the movement of a suspected vessel carrying narcotics. Acting on the intelligence, ICG assets mounted sustained sea-air surveillance and tracked the vessel before launching a coordinated hot pursuit.
