PM Modi to distribute over 51,000 appointment letters at 20th Rozgar Mela
New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth joining various government organisations at the 20th Rozgar Mela on September 19, as the government continues to emphasise recruitment to public sector posts and expanding employment opportunities for young people.
According to a release issued by the Prime Minister's Office on Friday, Modi will distribute the appointment letters through video conferencing at around 12.30 pm and address the newly appointed candidates on the occasion. The 20th Rozgar Mela will be organised simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, with the newly recruited candidates joining different Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. Among the organisations and departments involved are the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Defence.
The Rozgar Mela initiative is aimed at expediting recruitment to government posts and providing employment opportunities to eligible youth across the country. The government has also positioned the programme as part of its broader effort to increase the participation of young people in the country's development process. With the latest edition, around 12.75 lakh youth will have received appointment letters to various government departments and organisations through Rozgar Melas, according to the PMO.
The initiative has become a recurring feature of the government's recruitment outreach, with appointment letters being formally handed over to newly selected candidates at events held across different parts of the country. The government has maintained that the programme is intended to provide employment opportunities to qualified youth while augmenting manpower in key public institutions and services. The 20th Rozgar Mela comes amid continued government emphasis on employment, skilling and expanding opportunities for young people as India seeks to strengthen its workforce and sustain economic growth.
Modi's interaction with the newly appointed recruits is expected to highlight their responsibilities in public service and their role in contributing to the country's development. The simultaneous organisation of the recruitment event at 45 locations is also intended to underline the nationwide character of the initiative, bringing together newly appointed personnel from diverse government departments and services. The latest appointments span sectors ranging from revenue and railways to health, financial services, home affairs and defence.
